Free Summer Outdoor Movie season is here! We have been attending these from Henderson to North Las Vegas for a few years now and have some tips to share!
Outdoor Movie Season Tips:
Show up Early!
Most Summer Outdoor Movie locations suggest that you show up early to get a good spot on the lawn, plus the movie can’t start until the sun goes down. Bring a blanket to stake out your space. I suggest using the waterproof beach blankets. Most movie areas are not on a hill so leave the lawn chairs at home so others can see.
Get your snack on…
When arriving early you need to keep the kids entertained, this means snacking. Pack up your kids favorite non-messy snacks and drinks and bring them along! This will help with any boredom that can come along after sitting so long in a park setting.
Time to glow!
Since my kids were toddlers to now, they still like to get up from the blanket and move around on the grass. Being so dark out for the perfect movie atmosphere, I buy the $1 pack of Glow Sticks at Michael’s Craft Store. The kids like putting on their glowing jewelry, and I can find them in a pack of kids!
Yes, I said it. Bring blankets and sweaters, till July that is! In June our nights are still a bit chilly after the sun goes down. It’s best to be prepared! We keep sweaters in our car all summer for when we are indoors watching movies. 110 degrees outside means 75 degrees inside due to a blasting AC unit!
Pack it in, Pack it out.
Bring a bag you can put all your trash in! Too many times when we’re ready to leave we see a ridiculous amount of trash left behind. Its a great way to show our kids respecting our hosts!
