  • Black Mountain Recreation Center  Trunk or Treat October 24, 2013 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM  Join the City of Henderson’s premier safe trick-or-treating event at Black Mountain Recreation Center for an evening of festive fun.  Put on your costumes and follow the trick-or-treat trail in our parking lot where treats will be distributed from the trunks of festively decorated cars.   Don’t forget to sign up for the costume contest. Admission is $2 per person, each participant will receive a wristband Parent may accompany children for free. Register online with activity code 154027-00 or go to any recreation center after August 28th.

 

  • Whitney Ranch Aquatic Complex presents Haunted at the Ranch! October 25, 2013 from 6:00PM – 9:00PM. We’ve heard ghosts will be swimming to celebrate their favorite time of year.  Join us for an evening of spooky entertainment: Haunted Fun Games, Bounce House, Haunted House Tour!  Bring a blank pillowcase and make bag decorating extra frightening. Children under 8 must be supervised by a parent/guardian within arm’s reach at all times. Admission is $5 per person Register online using activity code 436614-00 at any recreation center or indoor pool starting August 28th.

 

  • Tot’s Trick or Treat Trail at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center on October 30, 2013 from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.  Dress your little ones (ages 1 -5) in their Halloween Costumes and let them trick or treat in the safety of Whitney Ranch Recreation Center It’s a great way for children to experience the thrill of trick or treating without the unnecessary fright. Admission is free but a donation of two canned food items to benefit the Henderson Salvation Army would be appreciated.

 

  • Galleria Mall-O-Ween Thursday, October 31st Throughout the Mall, 6-8pm. Dress in costume and bring the kids for Halloween themed activities and mall-wide trick-or-treating!*While supplies last.

The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting some frightfully fun Halloween events for children of all ages. Events range from crafts and story times to swimming and trick or treating. Parents are asked to register in advance for programs listed with activity numbers as space may be limited. Register online at cityofhenderson.com or in person at any City of Henderson recreation center.

  • Owly
    Bring your child to the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve to hear a story about a little owl with lots of big questions. Each child will color a page related to the story. Parents are welcome to take children on an educational walk around our ponds after story time. Location: Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, 350 E. Galleria Dr. Ages 3-5 10:00-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12 (activity 194004-65)  Free

 

  • Munchable Monster House
    Kids use chocolate frosting, graham crackers and colorful candy to create sweet and very edible haunted houses. It’s a munchable monster treat that’s fun to make. All supplies provided. Register by Oct. 13.
    Location: Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Pkwy.

  • Pumpkin Picassos
    Painting is a safe alternative to carving pumpkins. We’ll assist children as they paint their own pumpkin masterpieces and then entertain them with some great games. Bring a pumpkin and an old shirt for cover-up. Register by Oct. 11. Location: Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr. Ages 4-12 11:00 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Oct. 16 (294010-36) $2

 

  • Tots Trick or Treat Trail
    Dress your little ones in their Halloween costumes and let them trick or treat in the safety of our recreation centers. Admission is free, but a donation of two canned food items to benefit the Henderson Salvation Army would be appreciated.

  • Trunk or Treat
    Put on your costumes and follow the trick-or-treat trail in our parking lot where we’ll pass out treats (or tricks!) from the trunks of our festively decorated cars. It’s a fun and safe event for all ages. Don’t forget to sign up for the costume contest when you arrive. Each paid participant (pay at the gate) receives a wristband for admission. Parents accompany children for free.  Location: Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd.  All ages 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28  $2

 

  • Haunted At the Ranch
    Something spooky is happening. Ghosts will be swimming to celebrate their favorite time of year. Join us for an evening of haunted fun with games, trick-or-treat bag decorating, and a pumpkin scavenger hunt. Bring a blank pillowcase to make bag decorating extra frightening. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
    Location: Whitney Ranch Indoor Pool, 1575 C Galleria Dr.  All ages 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29  $1-$2

 

  • Tricks & Treats For Kids
    The Master Gardeners have a few tricks (and treats) up their sleeves as they introduce kids to a few fun and festive plant projects.  Location: Acacia Demonstration Gardens, 50 Casa Del Fuego St.  Ages 6+ 9:00-10:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30 (144027-95)  Free

 

  • Birds With Spooky Reputations
    Lots of creatures give people the creeps around Halloween and some of them are birds. Find out why crows, ravens, barn owls, and turkey vultures have spooky reputations.  Location: Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, 350 E. Galleria Dr.  Ages 6-12 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30 (194015-63)  Free.

 

  • The Distrcit at Green Valley Ranch Trick or Treating at The District
    October 31, 2013 from 5:00pm-8:00pm

  2. Could you correct the dates please, so many of them are wrong. I am not sure if these events were copied from last year & no longer exist??

  3. Tot’s Trick or Treat Trail is NOT on 10/30/13 at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center. It is at Valley View Recreation Center on 10/30/13 & at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center on 10/31/13. Sorry for the confusion.
