Story time at Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary – Join Katrina to learn about Mule Deer from 10-11am. Meet the sanctuary’s own mule deer, Bambi.
Meet with officers from the LVMPD Downtown Area Command. Come join us at the Donut Bar located at 124 S 6th St. for Coffee with a Cop. This is a great opportunity to meet the police officers that patrol your neighborhood and ask them any questions that you may have.
Come get your shopping done at the LARGEST student farmers market ever held in America!
Zappos will be hosting Green Our Planet’s Farmers Market, where 350 students from 35 Las Vegas elementary and high schools will be selling produce grown in their school gardens. The proceeds will go directly to the schools so that they can expand and maintain their school garden programs. Join in the fun and purchase fresh, organic fruits, veggies, and herbs from student farmer-entrepreneurs!
The market will also feature local food trucks and vendors! Parking is located in the 7th street lot. There is also street parking available.This event is free and open to the public! Get a free reusable bag by registering through the eventbrite! The stalls in the market are CASH ONLY!
Strawberry Fest at Gardens Park (Summerlin)
Join the Las Vegas Farmer’s Market from 4pm – 8pm for the annual Strawberry Fest at Garden’s Park. The festival will include festive foods, farmers market, arts, crafts, games, contests and of course, Strawberry shortcake eating contest.
FREE Star Wars Day Celebration at Rogue Toys
Rogue Toys 2nd Annual Star Wars Celebration at our West LV Rogue Toys. This is a FREE event to celebrate Star Wars 40th Anniversary. There will be costumed characters, games, a Build-A-Saber station, and lots of giveaways. Plus everyone in attendance will receive free Star Wars stuff. There will also be food and drinks.
Monster Energy Kawasaki Supercross Rider Appearance
Join Carter Powersports for a Monster Energy Kawasaki and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Racing/Kawasaki Supercross Rider Appearance on May 5. Bring your bike for this FREE event that will feature a kid’s bike course, bike safety checks, helmet giveaway, BMX demonstrations by Ricardo Laguna, bike routes from the RTC, bike maps, giveaways, free bike raffle and more!
Studies show that less than half of Americans who ride bicycles wear helmets. A national survey conducted in 2001-2003 found that only 48 percent of children ages 5-14 years wore bicycle helmets when riding. Further, older children were less likely to wear helmets than younger children, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The CDC reports that in 2010 in the U.S., 800 bicyclists were killed and an estimated 515,000 sustained bicycle-related injuries that required emergency department care. Roughly half of these cyclists were children and adolescents under the age of 20. Annually, 26,000 of these bicycle-related injuries to children and adolescents are traumatic brain injuries treated in emergency departments.
Our goal is to get a bike helmet into the hands of anyone who needs one to reduce bike injuries and deaths.

Paint with a Ranger at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park
When you pick up a brush you stop merely looking at the world and begin to see it. On this ranger-guided program you will go for a walk, find a quiet perfect place, and make a memory on paper. We will offer basic painting instruction and all the watercolor supplies you need to get started. This event is from 10am – 12n and does require registration.
Unlike most of our hikes, this one has a limited number of participants. Please call 702-875-4141 to reserve your spot. Group sign-ups will be limited to 3 people. If you are unable to reserve a spot but have your own painting supplies, you are welcome to bring them and join the program.
Recommended for everyone ages seven and up. Wear warm clothes, sunscreen and hat, and bring water. You may want to bring a yoga mat to sit on.

Baby Loves Disco at The District at Green Valley Ranch
The District at Green Valley Ranch invites you to shake, rattle and roll on Saturday, May 13, 3:00pm-5:30 pm when it hosts a FREE dance party – Baby Loves Disco. This is a child-appropriate disco party for toddlers, preschoolers, and parents. If you’re looking for a break from the routine playground circuit and for some post nap time, pre-dinner fun then Baby Loves Disco is the place to be on May 13th! Baby Loves Disco features a live DJ spinning tunes for that toddlers and dance for they can get down on. The event will also host community vendors with free children’s activities including arts and crafts, tattoos, and face painting. Baby Loves Disco will take place on Main Street at The District at Green Valley Ranch.

Returning to Las Vegas in 2017, Badass Dash will be bigger and better than ever as it returns on May 20th. Sam Boyd Stadium will once again serve as the venue, only this time competitors will compete on a 7k course using the entire stadium space, inside and out, including on the Runnin’ Rebels football field! Kids can compete in one of two levels based on age – 4-6 year olds will be challenged with a 400 yard dash while the 7-13 year olds will complete a 1-1.5 mile course.
Bass Pro Shops Critters & Creatures Weekend
The Bass Pro Shop Critters & Creatures family & kids event is Saturday May 27 from 12pm-5pm, and Sunday May 28 from 12pm-4:30pm.
There will be a Catch and Release Pond both days along with fun photo download, Kids workshop seminar on both days starting at 1:30pm. Fish Cleaning Tips at 2:30pm (giving by the Boy Scout)
Crafts: Saturday May 27 from 12pm-5pm and Sunday May 28 from 12:30pm-4:30pm.
First 100 kids who complete all activities and get the card punched will receive A Frog style visor.
Cooking Demos/ Free Samples both days starting at 12:30-4:30pm.
