Kids eat free at Rodizio Grill

March 10-17

Every student, through high school age, can enjoy a free meal with the purchase of each adult Full Rodizio. 

Spring Break Safari at Springs Preserve

Monday, March 11 – Sunday, March 17, 9am -4pm

The Springs Preserve will be open daily during Spring Break including Tuesday and Wednesday.

Spring Break Safari will feature daily programming included with your general admission all week, including:

  • Bird Beak Adaptations (Daily at 11am)
    Learn how bird beaks have adapted to suit their unique diets and environment. After a short bird walk in the Springs Preserve gardens, participants will practice their own bird beak skills with an experimental activity!

  • Toddler Time: Spring Flowers (Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 11am) 
    Celebrate the Spring season with a cheery storytime for little kids and a blooming take-home craft!

  • Behind-the-Scenes Zoology Clinic Tour (Daily at 12pm)
    From the vinegaroons to Gila monsters, learn more about Mojave Desert animals and how Springs Preserve zoologists take care of our animal collection.

  • Conservation for Kids: Deserts (Daily at 1pm)
    Do we live in a barren, dusty wasteland? No way! The Mojave Desert is a complex and rich ecosystem with its own unique animals, soil, waterways, and plants. Learn more about how we can take steps to conserve our home environment.

  • Drop-in Demonstrations (Daily at various times throughout the day)
    Learn more about the world around us with free and fun activities throughout the property. Meet with our experts as they share information on a variety of subjects ranging from Archaeology, Gardens, Zoology, and more!

  • Audio-guided Full-loop Train Ride Tours (Daily on the hour from 10am to 3pm)

 

Plus regular programming at The Springs Preserve including: 

Toddler Time
Monday, Thursday, Friday: 11am – 12pm

Conservation for Kids
Saturday and Sunday: 11 am and 1 pm
Drop in for a 15-30 minute interactive activity where kids can explore the importance of conservation

Ride the Train
On the hour, 9am – 3pm during open hours

Jump aboard the Boomtown Express, a guided, narrated ride on our life-size locomotive. The train stops at Boomtown 1905, a recreated streetscape of early-1900s downtown Las Vegas. Free with admission or membership to the Springs Preserve. 

Crack a Geode & Fossil Dig
Fossil Dig and Crack a Geode activities are $5 for Springs Preserve members or $6 for non-members.

SPRINGS CAFE
9am – 330pm

The Springs Café offers exceptional sammiches, salads, brunch, burgers, and libations at the Springs Preserve. Made from fresh, healthy ingredients, menu items include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

Springs Preserve Membership
Springs Preserve memberships are the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and are available online or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round Springs Preserve and Nevada State Museum access, discounts for activities, select events, Springs Cafe and The Springs Preserve Gift Shop. Individual membership is $30, and a Value Family membership is $60 which includes two adults and up to six kids under 18. Donor memberships are also available. Youth Fishing Day with Metro 

Tuesday, March 12, 9am – 12pm 
Sunset Park Pond

Spaces are limited. REGISTER HERE. 

Bring the kids out to Sunset Park for a fun and free day of fishing, activities, and food. We’ll be set up on the south end of the pond with loaner equipment and family fun!

Family Nature Hike

Tuesday, March 12, 10am – 12pm
Red Rock Canyon 

Are you looking for an educational outdoor adventure to do with your children during Spring break? Join one of our interpretive naturalists here at Red Rock Canyon NCA for a one-mile hike around Lost Creek Children’s Discover Trail. If luck allows, there will even be a seasonal waterfall. REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Nature Tales 

Wednesday, March 13, 11am – 12pm
Clark County Wetlands Park 

Join us in the Lizard Lounge for family storytime! This free, walk-in event includes a story and craft with a Wetlands Park naturalist, plus an age-appropriate nature lesson.

The Little Mermaid: Sensory-Friendly Viewing

Wednesday, March 13, 5pm

Red Rock for Kids: Art and Nature

Red Rock Canyon NCA is a wonder where kids can explore and experience nature. Red Rock for Kids is a program to help children of all ages connect with their public lands through art, games, stories, walks, and music. Join one of our interpretive naturalists this week and learn about the plants and animals of Red Rock through art. REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Things to Do in Las Vegas: Spring Break 2024

Kids Eat Free at Vic’s

After a day of fun at the museum cross the street to enjoy lunch at Vic’s. Kids 6 and under can choose a free spaghetti dish or choose from the new kid’s menu.

From 11am-3pm kids can choose from their own menu including fresh pasta, sliders and famous crusts. Bring your receipt from the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum for 10% off your meal. 

Adam London Laughternoon

Adam is a local dad and give an amazing show, but the 4pm show time at Orleans Casino can be hard to make during the week. Check him out during Spring Break! You won’t regret it.

Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures

Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures offers 2 rafting tours of the Hoover Dam as well as group tours. These water tours are on large rafts and calm waters, perfect for learning more about the dam and taking lots of photos! 

Hoover Dam Raft Tour

This three-hour tour is available Thursday – Sunday at 10am. The Hoover Dam Raft tour is an awe-inspiring day trip aboard a motor-assisted inflatable raft through the spectacular Black Canyon, the natural gorge of the Colorado River immediately below Hoover Dam! This tour is great for couples, families, and other adventurous explorers!

Pricing: 

$125 Adults Ages 16+ (plus National Park entrance fee)
$110 Youths Ages 5-15
Children Ages 0-4 are FREE 

Plan for a 6-hour day from your house and back!
Lunch is served on the excursion. 

Hoover Dam Post Card Tour

The Hoover Dam PostCard Tour is 90 minutes and allows visitors to view the Hoover Dam and the bypass bridge. The journey takes you downriver to feel the canyon’s surreal setting and see up close the concrete slabs, steps, and rails used to build the dam. The tour also includes the Old Catwalk, Gauging Station, and removed rock hillsides. Our Hoover Dam PostCard Tour is great for couples, families, and other adventurous explorers!

JW Marriott Las Vegas

The Waterfall Pool is open at JW Marriott Las Vegas, it’s heated, and there is daily pricing for locals. This is one of our favorite local resort pools. 

The pool is open daily, 10am – 5pm. Poolside dining is available and towels are provided. 

Daily rates during Spring Break at $12 for adults and $6 for children. Children under the age of 5 years are free.

The Neon Museum 

The Neon Museum is open from 3pm – 11pm through April. This is a fun spring activity because the weather is not too hot!

Visit Arte Museum 

Arte Museum invites visitors to leave the hustle and bustle of their daily lives and fully immerse themselves in the magic of Eternal Nature. The self guided exhibits feature stunning visuals, customized scents and immersive sounds.

Get Creative with Hawaii Fluid Art

Hawaii Fluid Art kicks off Spring Break with their grand opening! Learn how to layer vibrant colors to create unique, one of a kind art pieces in these semi private lessons. Other art options include Patch Parties, resin art and tumblers. 

Valley of Fire State Park 

The weather should still be cool enough to hike a favorite trail like Mouse’s Tank. Don’t forget to pack plenty of water and sunscreen! 

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park 

Entrance Fees: $10 per vehicle for Nevada Residents

Ice Age Fossils State Park 

Currently only open on weekends, 8am – 430pm
Entrance Fee: $3

Ice Age Fossils State Park includes a Visitor Center that offers natural history exhibits, restrooms, drinking water, covered outdoor seating, and a gift shop. There are three trails and covered picnic areas. 

Escapology

Located in Town Square Las Vegas, Escapology offers three unique escape rooms just for kids including Scooby-Doo and The Spooky Castle Adventure, Lost City, and Mansion Murder.

Find a new park

If you have extra time on your hands, plan a day across town or to an area of the valley you rarely get to visit.  Pick a fun new park from our PARK GUIDE and plan an afternoon!  Pack a picnic or find a fun new restaurant to try while you’re in the area.

Skye Canyon Park with treats from Twisted Sugar Skye Canyon (inside the Smith’s) or Aspire Coffee House. 
 
Mountain’s Edge Regional Park with the famous “pringles tower” and grab an ice cream cone from Poppy’s Frozen Yogurt.
 
Central Park in Cadence is super fun with the giant rope climbing structure and wide open fields. Play at the park and then explore Water Street in Henderson. Shop at Archer and Jane, get a snow cone from Purple Penguin, and a slice of pizza from Water Street Pizza.

Chase Waterfalls at Red Rock Canyon

First Creek Canyon, Lost Creek Canyon, and Ice Box Canyon all have beautiful waterfalls. There are plenty more trails with gorgeous springs that make for amazing hikes in the spring.

Go Fishing 

Floyd Lamb Park is only $6 per car for admission. Walk the trails or grab a pole and let the kids fish! You don’t need a fishing license for kids under 12.

Day Trip to St. George

There’s a lot of fun to be had in St. George, Utah from their state parks to an indoor ninja gym, recreation centers with indoor pools, museums, hiking, delicious restaurants, and all the family fun you can handle. Take a day trip or stay the night. 

Pro Tip: It’s often cheapest to stay at the Casablanca Resort in Mesquite and their pool is AMAZING!

Day trip to Oatman, Arizona

A ghost town with resident wild burros and a restaurant that serves fry bread? Sign me up! Oatman is an easy day trip or you can stay the night in Kingman and explore more of Route 66 in Arizona.
