March Theme: Let’s Make Music
Move and shake on down to this STEAM Saturday! This month let’s get groovy in the Neon Boneyard and learn about the connection between music and the iconic locations in our collection, like the Kim Sisters at the Stardust Hotel and Casino and the International Mariachi Festival at The Aladdin in the 90’s. Discover the joy of music by creating your own rhythm eggs, experience actual musicians playing their instruments, spend time learning sheet music with BoomWhackers, and learn how music is so deeply connected to the Neon collection!
Admission for Steam Saturdays is $5 per person. Children age 6 and younger are FREE. Members are free, Museums for All guests are free with EBT/SNAP/WIC or foster placement letter and calid ID.

STEAM Saturdays is a Neon Museum program that offers fun make-and-take activities, hands-on learning, and demonstrations designed to promote creative and critical thinking. This series is offered to families once a month from 9:30am-11:30am.

Ride the Train

Jump aboard the Boomtown Express, a guided, narrated ride on our life-size locomotive. The train stops at Boomtown 1905, a recreated streetscape of early-1900s downtown Las Vegas. Free with admission or membership to the Springs Preserve.
Crack a Geode & Fossil Dig
Fossil Dig and Crack a Geode activities are $5 for Springs Preserve members or $6 for non-members.
Red Rock Canyon
Willow Springs Scavenger Hunt

Come to Willow Springs Picnic Area and try your luck at finding some of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area’s secret surprises! To play, just pick up a scavenger hunt sheet from the interpreter at Willow Springs Picnic Area and make sure you bring along your phone or camera for pictures.
Frogs and Froglets

Frogs and Froglets is a program for 4–6-year-olds and their parents. It is an opportunity for kids and their families to experience nature through age-appropriate games, crafts, and walks around different parts of Red Rock Canyon NCA. Tickets are on sale February 2024.
Hop on down to the museum for some family fun! This two hour event includes an approximate 40 minute train ride that includes sing-a-longs and a reading of Peter Rabbit. Once you arrive at Springtime Station, passengers will disembark for refreshments, games and activities, and photos with a special bunny friend of ours. All Bunny Express excursions have a forecast for bubble storms!
This event is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Nevada Southern Railway who support the museum’s education and preservation mission.

This is a 2.5 hour workshop where kids ages 4-8 years can work on an art project with the guidance of a professional teacher. But the fun doesn’t stop there! This is the perfect workshop for all the little princesses out there! Parents are welcome to join us during the last hour to take pictures with the princess and see the finished art project!

Featuring one of the most iconic scores of all time by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill, an updated book from Harvey Fierstein based on the original classic by Isobel Lennart, tap choreography by Ayodele Casel, choreography by Ellenore Scott, and direction from Michael Mayer, this love letter to the theatre has the whole shebang! The sensational Broadway revival dazzles with celebrated classic songs, including “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People.” This bittersweet comedy is the story of the indomitable Fanny Brice, a girl from the Lower East Side who dreamed of a life on the stage. Everyone told her she’d never be a star, but then something funny happened—she became one of the most beloved performers in history, shining brighter than the brightest lights of Broadway.
Children aged 5 and up with a ticket can attend performances at The Smith Center. However, based on content, this show is recommended for ages 10+, though you know what is most appropriate for your children. All patrons must have their own ticket, regardless of age (no babies held in arms or children sitting on laps).

Unlike most competitions, we offer complete freedom of choice of repertoire, which gives them the possibility to be creative and allows teachers to work with students in a more didactic way.
The Young Artists Concert is one of the highlights of our season and helps develop amazing local talents that are winning the world.
