Henderson Silver Knights

The Henderson Silver Knights are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights. The Silver Knights play their home games at The Dollar Loan Center, a state-of-the-art arena in Henderson, NV. Cheer on the Silver Knights at their home games in November. UNLV Hockey

The UNLV Hockey team practices at least three times per week, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at 3pm.

22nd Annual Day of the Dead Festival: Life in Death

Winchester Park

Clark County Parks and Recreation presents “Life in Death: Day of the Dead,” a two-day festival featuring displays, an art exhibit, performances, craft sales, and food vendors at Winchester Cultural Center and Park, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. The event will explore cultural traditions related to the Mexican holiday of El Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Admission to the festival is free.

Springs Preserve Dia de Muertos Festival

Springs Preserve

Las Vegas’ most authentic and largest cultural Day of the Dead event is at the Springs Preserve, Nov. 3-5 only! Celebrate life at our outdoor, family-friendly festival.

This centuries-old celebration—rooted in Latin American cultures—honors loved ones through colorful and joyous traditions. Our event blends rich customs with exciting activities for all ages such as live theater and dance performances, music and mariachis, entertaining games, arts and crafts, food vendors, and much more.

A highlight of the event is the display of altars that local artists, residents, and community groups create to remember their dearly departed. Participants decorate the altars with photographs, poems and fun phrases, burning candles and incense, and offerings of their loved ones most cherished food and drinks. Event attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite altars and the “People’s Choice” winner will be announced at the conclusion of the festival.

The Rock Rink at Downtown Summerlin

The Rock Rink at Downtown Summerlin opens November 10, 2023. 

Rock Rink presented by Live Nation! is back for 2023. The  8,000 square foot real-ice skating rink located near the Pavilion at The Lawn.

Skate under the stars set to the backdrop of festive holiday music and an impressive 40-foot glittering holiday tree overlooking the rink.  Skate rentals start at $16, and all ages are welcome.

Stay warm with signature holiday beverages and snacks sure to please.

Don’t forget to ride the festive holiday train that runs through January 16 circling the ice-skating rink and holiday tree. Rides are $5.00 per adult and child.

Due to rink capacity requirements, skate time is limited to 75-minutes. Time starts when you get your skates and your end-time will be marked on your wristband. Thank you for your cooperation.

Las Vegas Days Rodeo

This is a FREE event.

Las Vegas Days (formerly known as Helldorado Days), an annual western themed event celebrating Las Vegas’ history, will offer two days of rodeo at the CORE Arena Friday-Saturday, November 10&11, 2023. The Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial and the Plaza Hotel & Casino are sponsoring the rodeo.

The Las Vegas Days Rodeo is fully sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association. The rodeo will feature bull riding, barrel racing, break-away, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding, with prize purses totaling $45,000.

Free Entrance to All National Parks 

Saturday, November 11

The kids are out of school Friday, November 10 (Veterans Day Observed), so make a weekend out of it and head to a National Park you’ve never experienced.

In Nevada this includes Death Valley National Park, Great Basin National Park and Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Tule Springs Fossil Beds is also included, but there is currently no admission fee for this park. 

The Bureau of Land Management is also offering a fee-free day on November 11, 2023. In Las Vegas this applies to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. 

Reservations for entry to the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Loop are still required for visits October through May between 8am and 5pm

At this time it doesn’t appear the Nevada State Parks will be offering fee-free admission on November 11, 2023. If that changes we will update.

The College of Southern Nevada Fine Arts Theatre Program presents, Peter and the Starcatcher, a theatrical production based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson.
 
Peter and the Starcatcher explores how a young orphan ultimately became Peter Pan. It upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be the boy who would not grow up (a.k.a. Peter Pan).

Stargazing with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society

You might be surprised how bright the stars are just 20 miles from downtown Las Vegas! Bring your family and join the Las Vegas Astronomical Society for an evening of star gazing with their excellent telescopes and knowledgeable guidance.

This event will be held after regular park hours (5 PM to 9:30 PM) in our group use area and warm clothes are highly recommended. Also, red light flash lights or headlamps are preferred as they help keep our eyes adjusted to the dark and makes for better viewing for all.

We ask that you please leave your pets at home as there are many tripping hazards and sensitive and expensive equipment that could easily be damaged.

There is a $10 per vehicle cash only entrance fee and we highly recommend bringing exact change to help move the line of cars through the fee station.

We will stop entry to this event at 9 PM so any vehicles arriving after 9 PM will not be allowed into the park.
