There’s fun in every season and we’ve created the 14 day Valentine’s Day Countdown calendar to help you find creative ways to spend time with the family this February. Share you experiences with us on Facebook and Instagram!

February 1

Start the month off with a family dinner, breakfast for dinner! Create fun heart-shaped pancakes for a simple meal filled with love.

We love these heart-shaped waffle makers.

February 2

Write a note to someone you love. Encourage your kids (and you adults too!) to send a note to someone that means a lot to you. Family, friends, teachers, neighbors or head out in the community and thank our local heroes with a little note to remind them they are loved.

February 3

Read a Valentine’s Story!

Head to one of our local libraries and check out some lovely books to share as a family or visit or Amazon store for a suggested list of themed books for the month to celebrate Valentine’s Day!

Family Movie Night means snuggling on the sofa enjoying your favorite movies and maybe even some delicious treats. If you feel inspired create a heart-themed snack board to share with the family during your movie.

Below is a list of movies to inspire you.

Gnomeo & Juliet
Lady and the Tramp
Enchanted
Cinderella
The Parent Trap
Be My Valentine Charlie Brown
Beauty and the Beast
Charlotte’s Web

The Princess Bride
Wall-E
My Girl
The Little Prince
Shrek
Star Girl
The Little Mermaid
The Sound of Music

February 5

Heart attack a friend or neighbor. Attack their front door with hearts filled with written words of affirmation, kindness, and love!

February 6

Help make a dinner you love. Involve the kids in dinner planning and preparation. Plan a family meal that everyone will love, made with lots of love!

February 7

Compliment a friend. Take a moment today to remind a friend how awesome they are and what wonderful things they bring to your life. Encourage your kids to do the same at school with friends and classmates by offering kind words to make their day bright.

February 8

Do someone else’s chores. Pitch in with love and show the kids how they can help too! Maybe it’s taking the trash out or wiping down the table. Simple tasks can have big meanings.

February 9

Plan an act of kindness. It doesn’t have to be a big production, just something to remind our community and friends that they are loved.

  • Leave a thank you note for your mail carrier
  • Take some sweet treats to local heroes at the police or fire stations.
  • Thank your child’s teacher and have them thank them as well with a kind note.
  • Visit an elderly neighbor.
  • Make a meal for a family and take it off their plate for a night.
  • Support a small business with a social media post.
February 10

Wear red today! Be festive and fun and show off your love for February.

  • Dress in a Valentine-themed shirt
  • Wear some heart earrings (we’re partial to the ones made by a local mom at Hey There Peaches
  • Get matching Valentine pajamas for the family
