Join PETA for a “Trash Fishing” community cleanup event at Lorenzi Park! Participants fish for trash, instead of fish, and make the environment a safer place for birds, turtles, fish, and other animals to live.
Wildlife rehabilitators say that discarded fishing tackle is one of the greatest threats to aquatic animals. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “ore than one million birds and 100,000 marine mammals die each year due to ingestion of, and entanglement in marine debris.”
This all-ages event is part of PETA’s “Trash Fishing” initiative to provide a safe and humane family activity that helps animals in our community. We hope you’ll join us!
