A crêpe or crepe is a very thin type of pancake. The first recorded recipe for Crêpes originates from Brittany, a region in western France, during the 13th century. Crêpes are usually one of two varieties: sweet crêpes or savory galettes. In this class, Chef Nico is going to teach you how to create both varieties with the ability to leave the class feeling confident you can recreate this French specialty in the comfort of your own home.A sweet crêpe can be eaten as part of breakfast or as a dessert. Common fillings include hazelnut cocoa spread, preserves, sugar, maple syrup, and lemon juice. As a special addition to this class, you will also learn a quick and easy recipe for making a vegan “Nutella” for your sweet crêpe!!
Savory crêpes are made with non-wheat flours such as buckwheat and omitting the sugar. This often makes them an ideal solution for someone that is gluten-free. Common savory fillings for crêpes served for lunch or dinner are cheese, vegan meats and vegetables.
